About Gislason

Gislason & Hunter is a law firm dedicated to meeting the needs of businesses and individuals in the Midwest.

We are a mid-sized law firm that handles complex cases worth hundreds of millions of dollars, mediates settlements, and negotiates and drafts complex transactional documents.

With offices in Des Moines and Minnesota, we are at home in both rural and metropolitan areas. Most of our attorneys were born and raised in the Midwest; all are deeply committed to the communities where they live and work.

We have built our practice by achieving client's goals. It's the way we work, and the way our clients want things done.

History of the Firm

The Early Years
In 1937, Sidney P. Gislason opened his law practice in the beautiful city of New Ulm with one purpose in mind--to provide the highest quality legal services to the people of New Ulm and the surrounding area. Building on this foundation Gislason & Hunter LLP has steadily expanded its offices and legal staff to meet the growing and diverse needs of its clients. From modest beginnings in a second floor office, the firm has grown to become one of the largest firms in the state of Minnesota.

The Modern Era
As the firm has grown, so has the scope of its law practice. Gislason & Hunter LLP now has become a regional law firm representing clients throughout the Midwest and Northern Plains States. In 2000, Gislason & Hunter LLP opened an office in Des Moines. Along with its offices in New Ulm, Mankato, Minneapolis, and Mapleton, the firm consists of over 40 attorneys and a support staff of over 60.

The Gislason & Hunter family of attorneys, paralegals, legal secretaries, and administrative personnel work as a team to provide the very best results for our clients.

In order to continue to meet the needs of our client we understand that it is important to stay abreast of rapidly changing legal trends through continuing legal education, state-of-the-art computerized legal support, and advanced communication technologies.

Gislason & Hunter LLP will not provide legal advice through e-mail or over the World Wide Web. If it is legal advice you seek, please contact an attorney and schedule an appointment to discuss your matter. Thank you for visiting Gislason & Hunter LLP.
